1. About these terms
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Sprout app and website at sprout.velorynlabs.co.uk (together, the "Service"), operated by Veloryn Labs Ltd, registered in England and Wales ("we", "us", "our").
By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use Sprout.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. By using Sprout, you confirm that you are 18 or over and that the information you provide is accurate.
Sprout is designed for use by parents and caregivers to track baby care activities. You are responsible for all activity under your account.
3. Your account
You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure. Do not share your password with anyone. If you suspect unauthorised access to your account, contact us immediately at hello@velorynlabs.co.uk.
You may not use another person's account without their explicit permission.
4. The Service
Sprout provides tools to help parents log and review baby care activities including sleep, nursing, bottle feeds, solid foods, and nappy changes. Paid tiers add features such as nap predictions, a schedule creator, and an AI assistant.
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time. Where reasonably practicable, we will give advance notice of significant changes.
5. Subscriptions and billing
Free tier
Core tracking features are free with no time limit. No credit card is required to use the free tier.
Sprout Plus and Premium
Sprout Plus (£1.99/mo or £19.99/yr) and Sprout Premium (£3.99/mo or £39.99/yr) are paid subscription tiers that unlock additional features. Prices are inclusive of applicable taxes.
Billing and renewal
Subscriptions are billed through the Google Play Store (Android) or the Apple App Store (iOS) and renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period.
Cancellation and refunds
You may cancel your subscription at any time through the relevant app store. You will retain access to paid features until the end of the current paid period. Refunds are subject to the refund policy of the relevant app store (Google Play or Apple App Store) — we cannot issue refunds directly.
Price changes
We may change subscription prices with at least 30 days' notice. Price changes will not affect your current billing period.
6. AI assistant (Ask Sprout AI)
The Ask Sprout AI feature (available on Sprout Premium) uses the Claude API by Anthropic to provide responses based on your baby's recent tracking data. By using this feature, you acknowledge that:
- AI responses are for general informational purposes only and are not medical advice
- You should always consult a qualified healthcare professional (GP, health visitor, paediatrician) for medical concerns about your baby
- Summaries of your baby's recent logs are transmitted securely to the Claude API to generate responses — see our Privacy Policy for details
7. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract source code from the app
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to our systems or another user's account
- Use automated tools to access the Service in a way that could damage or overload our infrastructure
- Resell or sublicense access to the Service
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
8. Intellectual property
All content, design, code, and branding in the Sprout app and website (including the name "Sprout", the logo, and all copy) are the intellectual property of Veloryn Labs Ltd and are protected by copyright and other applicable laws.
Your tracking data (logs, baby profiles) belongs to you. We do not claim any ownership over the data you enter into Sprout.
9. Disclaimer of warranties
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not warrant that:
- The Service will be uninterrupted or error-free at all times
- Nap predictions or AI responses will be accurate for your specific baby
- The Service will meet all of your requirements
Nothing in these Terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Veloryn Labs Ltd shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service.
Our total liability to you for any claim arising under these Terms shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or £50, whichever is greater.
Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer under the laws of England and Wales.
11. Third-party services
Sprout integrates with the following third-party services, each governed by their own terms and privacy policies:
- Supabase — database and authentication
- RevenueCat — subscription management
- Anthropic (Claude API) — AI assistant feature
- Google Play / Apple App Store — app distribution and billing
We are not responsible for the practices or content of these third-party services.
12. Termination
You may stop using Sprout and delete your account at any time by contacting hello@velorynlabs.co.uk.
We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these Terms, with or without notice depending on the severity of the breach.
On termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Your data will be deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or an in-app notice at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after that date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
14. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising under or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
If you are a consumer resident in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may also have the right to bring proceedings in the courts of your home jurisdiction.
