How do I create an account?
Open the Sprout app and tap Get started on the welcome screen. Enter your email address and choose a password. You'll receive a confirmation email — tap the link inside to verify your address, then sign in.
How do I add my baby's profile?
After signing in for the first time, Sprout will walk you through adding your baby. Enter their name, date of birth, and sex. You can add more children later from the Child tab by tapping + Add child.
Can I add more than one child?
Yes — Sprout supports multiple children. Go to the Child tab and tap + Add child. Switch between children by tapping their name or avatar.
Is my data backed up?
Yes. All your logs are stored securely in the cloud (Supabase) and synced to your account. If you reinstall the app or switch phones, just sign in with the same email and your data will be restored.
How do I log a sleep session?
Tap the Sleep tile on the home screen. A live timer will start immediately. When your baby wakes up, tap the tile again and select End sleep. The session is saved automatically with the duration.
You can also log a past sleep session by tapping Log manually and entering the start and end times.
How does the nursing timer work?
Tap the Nursing tile. Choose Left or Right to start. You can switch sides mid-session by tapping the other side — Sprout tracks duration separately for each. Tap End when the feed is done.
Can I log past events?
Yes. On each log modal, tap Log manually (or the clock icon) to enter a specific time in the past. This is useful if you forgot to log something at the time.
How do I delete a log entry?
Scroll down on the home screen to find the activity timeline. Swipe left on any entry, or tap and hold it, to reveal the Delete option. Note: you cannot delete a log for an active running timer — stop the timer first.
What units does Sprout use?
By default Sprout uses metric units (ml, kg, cm). You can switch to imperial (oz, lb, inch) in Settings → Preferences → Metric units.
How do I view my baby's history?
Tap the Reports tab. You can switch between Day, Week, and Summary views using the tabs at the top. Use the date navigation arrows to look back through previous days or weeks.
How do I export my data as a CSV?
Go to Settings → Account → Export data (CSV). Sprout will generate a CSV file containing all your active child's logs and open the system share sheet — you can save it to Files, email it to yourself, or share it however you like.
How does nap prediction work?
Sprout analyses your baby's actual wake and sleep times over the past few days to predict when the next nap window will be. The prediction appears as a banner on the home screen and updates in real time as your baby stays awake longer.
Nap predictions require at least 3–5 sleep logs to become reliable. The more you track, the more accurate they get.
Why isn't the nap prediction showing?
Nap predictions need a few logs to work. Make sure you have:
- Logged at least 3 sleep sessions for your baby
- A Sprout Plus or Premium subscription
- Your baby's wake times (end of sleep) recorded — not just start times
What can I ask the AI assistant?
Ask Sprout AI is powered by Claude and has access to your baby's recent logs. You can ask things like:
- "Why is my baby waking up so often at night?"
- "Is 3 naps a day normal for a 5-month-old?"
- "How can I extend my baby's naps?"
- "What's a good bedtime routine?"
The AI gives personalised responses based on your baby's actual data, not generic advice.
Is the AI advice medically accurate?
Ask Sprout AI provides general guidance based on widely accepted infant sleep and feeding information. It is not a substitute for professional medical advice. Always consult your GP, health visitor, or paediatrician if you have concerns about your baby's health or development.
How do I change my password?
On the login screen, tap Forgot password? and enter your email address. You'll receive a reset link — open it on your phone and it will bring you straight into the app to set a new password.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Sprout subscriptions are managed through the Google Play Store (Android) or App Store (iOS). To cancel:
- Android: Google Play → Profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Sprout → Cancel
- iOS: Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions → Sprout → Cancel
You'll keep access until the end of your current billing period.
How do I delete my account?
To delete your account and all associated data, email us at hello@velorynlabs.co.uk with the subject line "Delete my account". We will permanently delete your account and all data within 30 days, in accordance with UK GDPR.
I've lost access to my email — what do I do?
Email us at hello@velorynlabs.co.uk from any address and we'll help you regain access to your account after verifying your identity.
